If an individual's name changes, you should update their contact details to reflect their new name.

 

You can use the Alias field to store the contact's previous name. This field is used only by the search and can therefore contain multiple names, nicknames or other aliases for the contact.

 

You should avoid creating duplicate contacts that represent the same natural person.
